With the first five chapters now completed and out for external review, I’ve begun working on chapter 6. It feels like a big milestone to have my work in other people’s hands - both exciting and unnerving. Sharing it beyond my usual circle is a bit of a leap, and I’m feeling that mix of hope and anxiety as I wait for feedback. In the meantime, I’m channelling that energy into making real progress on what comes next.

This month has been all about refinement—lots of rewriting, editing, and shaping what I’d already drafted. It’s been intense, but productive. There’s a strange kind of satisfaction in seeing things come together after so much reworking. Now that I’ve cleared some major edits, I’m looking forward to diving into new material with fresh momentum.

The first chapter has been drafted and redrafted… with the second one now underway. I'm feeling excited, nervous, and happy all at once. I really hope I can create something that young adults will truly enjoy - especially since my niblings are part of my inspiration.

Exciting progress this month with the book blurb finalised, setting the tone for what’s to come. The opening prologue has been drafted, and the first chapter is well underway, bringing the story to life. Meanwhile, cover artwork is being discussed. Stay tuned!
